merry merry merry

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Even though I love everything I unwrapped this morning I already received the best present a few days ago...
My Dad coming home after being in the "sandbox" for the last few months.
Since I moved to Virginia fall last year it had been over a year since I had been able to spend time with him. He's really making up for that though, making chili and helping me clean out a lot of crap thats beenb slowing down my computer.

This would be the perfect Christmas if Brett were here.
But he will be home next week thankfully, and we will get to this all over again!

Short post I know but that chili is calling my name!

wherever you are, stay safe and be happy

La Dee Da

Just a quick post...
Brett's been here for 3 weeks and so far its been great. I missed him so much!
Our birthdays are this weekend and I'm so excited!
Turning 21 is a big milestone. Old enough to go gamble woohoo haha...
I'm hoping to actually celebrate in Reno but we shall see...

Well, I gotta skidaddle, we are trying to watch A League of Their Own [<3] but our Netflix instant view is acting weird...

Until we meet again...

grr

So I turned down a job at Rack Room Shoes at the Lake Square Mall in Leesburg AND an apartment 2 doors down from my sister for a position at Target in Reno that I DIDN'T GET...
Now I know I should try to reevaluate the situation and see why God led me back here but right now all I can see is that this was a waste of my time and money.
Right now I could be working, living in my own place and would get to see Brett on the 19th... But instead I'm back at my freaking moms, no job, and have to wait until the 28th to see him. And it sucks. I hate this helpless; "I screwed everything up because I'm so damn impulsive" feeling that is all too familiar.
Now mom's talking about me trying to go back if the job and apartment are still available... I don't know if that is really an option. I know Brett would flip if he had to change his ticket again.
But to quote Robin Williams [paraphrasing Gandhi] "Then I must do what I have got to do"

this is how i feel today..

Here I am once again, feeling lost right now and then I breath it in to let it go. And you don't know where you are now or what it will come to if only somebody could hear. When you figure out how, you're lost in the moment you disappear. You don't have to be afraid to put your dreams in action, you're never gonna fade, you'll be the main attraction. Not a fantasy. Just remember me when it turns out right. Cause you know that if you live in your imagination, tomorrow you'll be everybody's fascination. In my victory, just remember me when I make it shine. Reaching high, feeling low. I'm holding on but letting go. I'd like to shine, I'll shine for you. And it's time to show the world how, it's a little bit closer as long as I'm ready to go. All we have is right now as long as you feel it inside you know.

Yeah that's pretty much it. Fear, anticipation and inspiration haha...

What a week

yeah I know its been ages but i just feel the need to type right now..
what a week...
First Ed McMahon... a wonderful, positive, charitable man passed away on Tuesday at the age of 86
Then this morning Farrah Fawcett after a long cancer battle at the age of 62
And now the King of Pop, Michael Jackson has died at the age of 50 due to cardiac arrest.
times like these remind you of your mortality and how swiftly it can be snatched away. don't just look for roses to sniff, take your time with the wildflowers too. hold on to your loved ones, they will be the legs you stand on in the stormy times. make sure everyone in your life knows how you feel, from your 87 year old grandmother to your 4 year old dog, show them what they mean to you every chance you get.
To Ed, Farrah and Michael... Our prayers follow you on gilded wings.. may you rest in peace, you will be greatly missed...

well well well...

Yeah, I am getting really bad at remembering to update this thing!

So I went to California and had an AWESOME time!
Seeing Shane, Dee, Aedyn and getting to meet Connor was great..
Connor is so cute, he looks JUST LIKE Shane.

And Nina and Brian came over and we played Cranium. Best.game.ever.

When we left that night I cried like a baby. Not because I was sad but because I was so happy. Happy that Aedyn is in such a warm, loving home and happy that the relationship between myself and Shane and Deanna is so close, so special.
It just warms my heart to see them together. They are the most beautiful, caring people I have ever met. I am so happy to have them in my life.

Anywho, Then we had a SUPER BOWL PARTY to go to! Ben's high school buddies have been throwing a party for the last 16 years.
It was so much fun, everyone was really nice. And the Steelers won, which made me happy. And I won $12!! Ha ha..

Everything's been good since then.
We found a house in Silver Springs [about 17 miles from where we are now] that is really cute. It's a green ranch style, 3 bedroom, 2 bath AND its on an acre! We are hoping to find out if its ours by the end of the week. I am super excited about having a home of our own. I am not an apartment person! I get cabin fever easily.

Other than that I am pretty happy. Maybe not elated, but content.
And these days, what more could you ask for?

wow

I really should try to update more often.

So last weekend I got to see LeAnne for the first time in over a year. It was so great getting to see her and the kids. Alaisa is getting so big and J'vion is so cute!
[I'll have pictures of that visit soon]
And I have a great weekend ahead of me as well. Ben and I are heading down to SoCal for a few days. I will get to attend the hearing for Aedyn which sets my mind a little more at ease.
No, I lied; it makes me even more anxious...
Then I will get to actually spend some time with Shane and Dee and Aedyn and I get to meet Connor at last!
Super Bowl Sunday I will be going to a party with Ben. Friends of his from high school have a party every year and even though he doesn't even follow football, he always goes.

Aahhh, so much happiness on the horizon....

home again home again

SO...
..the Air Force decided that I was damaged goods and that they needed to cut me loose. Now I am in Ferndale again and just trying to figure out what to do with myself.
Jeff and I are.. let's just say we don't really know what the hell is going on.
[Like we all know, I never know what's going on any damn way]
Right now I am taking everything as it comes..
I'm on strict doctor's orders to not work for AT LEAST a month and a half so I will be spending my days with my new favorite person in the world; Miss Lilly.
I will have to get some pictures of her on here, she's so beautiful. And I joke with her Momma [Danielle] that I am just going to keep her forever.

Well that's all for now...
I don't have a cell phone [at least not one with a plan anyway] and I'm not passing out Danielle's number so if you must get ahold of me call my parents and they will track me down or you can always email me.

Love and prayers the whole world over;

Well.. time to get this show on the road!

See you in 6 weeks!!

sometimes we wonder...

Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God have
to do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explanation! A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake." "Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter.
"How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!" "Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!"
To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves.
But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! "
God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times.
But God knows that when He puts us through
these things all in His order, they
always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!
God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

Life may not be the party we hoped for,
but while we are here we Might as well dance.

from skittles

This is a poem my friend Skittles [aka Cyrano] wrote for me.

i hope that this time you win
so you can be happy once again
but if you thought you're weren't a winner before
you may want to think about that some more
sure there was hurt sure there was pain
sure there were things left tainted and stained
but you're a beautiful girl with a great smile
a beautiful heart and a wicked style
even though you haven't won in the love game
with friends like yours you've still won just the same

bon anniversaire a moi!

Aah, nineteen at last! And what a happy birthday it is so far. I've received 2 pairs of pajamas,
a Macy's gift card,
new Clinique makeup, lash primer, lip liner, and a free gift with purchase of two lipsticks, face wash, eye makeup remover, blush and mascara in a really cute kiss covered case.
new Victoria's Secret fragrances Pink which is kind of citrus-y with more green tones and Love Spell which is my FAVORITE! It's white cherry, peach and jasmine. My bag however is black, not the white pattern, and has a gold medallion on the front that says "Love Victoria's Secret"
and a big bag of dark chocolate M&M's!
Now I'm off to get a mani- pedi since [as my dad said] this is my last chance to pamper myself before bootcamp. Then we are going to Chili's for lunch and going to the movies. We were going to see The Women but from what I've read its not that good so we'll probably end up seeing Pineapple Express or Righteous Kill.

we remember

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Out in the yard with your wife and children
Working on some stage in LA
Did you stand there in shock at the site of
That black smoke rising against that blue sky
Did you shout out in anger
In fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry

Did you weep for the children
Who lost their dear loved ones
And pray for the ones who don't know
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
And sob for the ones left below

Did you burst out in pride
For the red white and blue
The heroes who died just doing what they do
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer
And look at yourself to what really matters

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Teaching a class full of innocent children
Driving down some cold interstate
Did you feel guilty cause you're a survivor
In a crowded room did you feel alone
Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her
Did you dust off that bible at home
Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened
Close your eyes and not go to sleep
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages
Speak with some stranger on the street
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow
Go out and buy you a gun
Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watching
And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns
Did you go to a church and hold hands with some stranger
Stand in line and give your own blood
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Thank God you had somebody to love

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

The greatest is love
The greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day

To all our men and women in blue, camouflage, or black rubber.. you are in our hearts even when you are not at home. God bless you all.

Rest in peace Dirty Harry ♥

Yesterday our beautiful feline companion Dirty Harry passed away. He was very sick and losing a lot of weight. My mother thinks he might have had diabetes, he drank a lot and was always trying to find the warmest place in the house to sleep. He was beautiful, had the softest fur. He always tried to get into things like hampers, shoe boxes, bathroom sinks and my mother's makeup box. Harry came to us, found us more than we found him. He was sitting in the snow in the middle of the street. We took him home and he decided we were a good family to adopt. Playful, mischievous, stubborn; a voice like a siren. As much as he loved water he merely tolerated baths. He was a good companion for Marshall, our other cat, and he loved to sit on Daddy's chest when he was in the office on the computer. We know that he is in a better place; warm and light; and that Grandma is taking good care of him. Harry we love you very much; you will be greatly missed by all of us.

Support our troops, for FREE!

There's a new show on HBO called Generation Kill. It's a book that was
made into a miniseries (like Band of Brothers) about Iraq and
Afghanistan.

Please take a moment to go to the website
( http://www.hbo.com/generationkill/ ), click on Troop Drive (right side
of tool bar) and click donate now. Just fill in your info and decide
which item you want HBO to donate to the troops in your name.

No matter what your opinion of the war, thanks for supporting our
troops!!
